Fawn Mckay

Fawn McKay was born 15 September 1915 in Ogden, Utah. Born into the Mormon Church's first family Fawn McKay directed her ingenious writing talents as well as her remarkable abilities in research to create an amazing psycho-historical account of Joseph Smith, published in 1945 under the title The Only Man Knows My History. This title was inspired by the funeral sermon delivered by Joseph Smith who was the founding father of the Church of Latter-Day Saints. His audience was shocked by his telling his audience: "You don't even know my name. There is no way to know my heart." My history is not known to anyone. In reality I'm not even sure. I wrote the 29-year-old Fawn: Since that moment of candor more than three writers have jumped on the gauntlet. A lot of them have denigrated him and while others have glorified him. some have even tried their hands at diagnosing him. The problem isn't the fact that these documents lack information, it is rather that they're in complete contradiction. It is a difficult job to find these records by separating the first-hand versions from third-hand copies and fitting Mormon accounts with those of non-Mormon people to form a cohesive mosaic. It is both exciting and educational. Fawn brodie was professionally dedicated to her work. Thaddeus Stewards, the result of her research and writing has made her a famous author. "The Devil's Road" (1959) The Slaughter of the South. The Story of Sir Richard Burton (1967) Thomas Jefferson. An Intimate Historical Document (1974) and posthumously Richard Nixon.
